SOCAP10 & Omidyar Network Mobile FastPitch Session

Picture
At the "Mobile Technology FastPitch" we will be bringing together a group of the most promising social entrepreneurs harnessing mobile technologies to create social benefit to present their work to the public. In front of an engaged audience of investors, philanthropists and potential partners the entrepreneurs will pitch their businesses and have the opportunity to receive valuable feedback and access to potential funding. Additionally, the audience will vote one of the presenters a winner, with the winning business recognized at the conference, profiled in post-conference SOCAP and Omidyar Network communications, and invited to attend a deep dive discussion with Omidyar's mobile investment team.

Social Capital Markets Conference 2010 (SOCAP10)

For the past two years, the world’s leading social innovators have converged at SOCAP to successfully define the social enterprise landscape and validate the space. Now we ask, “What’s Next?” We invite your participation as a panelist to join us in answering that question this year at SOCAP10.

The format of SOCAP will be two days of deep-dives and micro-keynotes, including Jacqueline Novogratz of Acumen Fund, Matt Flannery of Kiva, Jay Coen Gilbert of B Lab, William Foote of Root Capital and more.  We will look at key focus areas in the social enterprise space including Impact Investing, Mobile and Appropriate Technology, Slow Money and Food Systems, Sustainable Development and Tactical Philanthropy.  We will also once again convene “Embrace Disruption,” a micro-conference on the changing landscape of media for social change. The third day will be an “Open Space” of participant–led sessions, consistently praised as one of the most valuable aspects of the conference.
